Day 28 - Hilton Head Island to Orlando

After four weeks and over 5,000 miles our road trip is coming to an end. I went to the spa this morning to have a pedicure, then we packed up the car and drove 5 and a half hours to Orlando. The boys both took naps at different times. Matthew slept through our lunch stop, then refused to eat his lunch when we woke up. I think the boy is on a food strike. He hasn't eaten much in the last couple of days. Maybe it's the humidity. It was a pretty uneventful car ride. Of course the last hour was full of "when are we going to be there?" questions from our youngest passenger, but other than that it was a peaceful drive. We had to wake up Jack from his nap so that he could have his picture taken in front of the Amway Center where the Orlando Magic play. After we checked into our hotel we went to International Drive to find a restaurant to have dinner. There definitely weren't a lack of choices, but being Saturday night it was hard to find a restaurant with less than an hour wait. Luckily we were able to be seated outside right away at TGIFridays otherwise we would have had a meltdown on our hands. Matthew claimed to be starving, but once again barely ate his dinner. When we got back to the hotel Brad took the boys down to the pool. It's their last chance of the summer to swim in a hotel pool. Tomorrow morning we drive 3 and a half hours to Ft. Lauderdale to board the Allure of the Seas for a week long cruise. I cannot believe that our vacation is almost over. This summer has gone by really fast, but we have had a lot of fun and learned a lot about our wonderful country.

I will blog about our cruise after we get home. Hope you have all enjoyed reading about our cross-country adventure.
