After breakfast we let the boys play in the hotel room for a little while because they haven't had much downtime during this whole trip. Then we walked to Navy Pier to buy tickets for a sightseeing double decker bus tour around the city. We like to take tours like that when we go to big cities so we can figure out what we want to see. We got off at Millennium Park and took pictures of Cloudgate, aka the Bean. It's actually pretty cool and Jack and Matthew had fun trying to find themselves in the sculpture. We ate Chicago pizza at Pizano's for lunch, but weren't very impressed. Maybe we're just too used to California pizza. After lunch we got back on the bus and took it back to Navy Pier. We walked around the pier for a little bit and then took the boys to see The Smurfs. It was cute, but not something I will be running out to see again. We dropped some shopping bags off at the hotel and headed back to Navy Pier to see the fireworks show. They shoot off fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday. It was a very full day and the boys crashed hard once they finally got in bed. Tomorrow we have another full day in Chicago.
Unfortunately in the middle of our day we received the sad news that Brad's grandmother passed away. He will be flying home in the next few days for the funeral and then rejoining us on our trip.
