Park City/Jackson Hole - Day 9
It's amazing to me how much stuff we have to pack up every time we leave a hotel. We are going to have to rethink things for our next trip. We're not going to be able to take as much stuff because we are renting a sedan, so we won't have as much room in the car and we are flying home from Florida. Brad packed up the car while I took Jack and Matthew to the pool one last time. They were not happy that they had less than an hour in the pool, but we had to get over to Utah Olympic Park by 1 o'clock to see skiers practice aerial jumps and land in a 750,000 gallon pool of water. It was pretty awesome to watch. I even got some on video. The boys were pretty impressed too. A lot of the family was there watching the show too. We said goodbye to Arnie, Cate and the East Coast relatives then went to lunch with Greg, Jay, Abby, Mike and Aimee. Jack and Matthew had fun playing tag with Greg and Jay while we searched for a restaurant that Mike had found on his phone. After a long walk we gave up looking for the restaurant and ate at the next place we came across. The food was good, but the service was really slow and Matthew was really grouchy. After lunch we parted ways and started our five hour drive to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It's kind of a strange drive because just when you think you are in Wyoming, you drive back into Utah. Then you drive into Wyoming again, but awhile later drive into Idaho. The third time was the charm and we were in Wyoming for the rest of the drive. I am happily surprised at how well the boys have done in the car. The last half hour was a little loud because Matthew was singing in his Alvin and the Chipmunks voice. If you haven't heard it, consider yourself lucky. We saw a lot of horses and cows on the drive. At one point I said that the cows were having a conference because they were all huddled together, so whenever we saw a group of cows or horses together Matthew said they were having a meeting. We finally made it to our hotel a little before 9 pm. We hadn't eaten dinner yet, so after we checked in we had dinner at the hotel behind ours. The we settled in for a long summer's nap. We are so completely off our normal schedule on this vacation.
