Las Vegas/Zion - Day 2

Yesterday we had breakfast at our hotel, then I went off to the spa and Brad, Jack and Matthew went to the pool. I met up with them after my pedicure (my toes are so pretty, at least for a little while). The boys had water fights with the water blasters I bought them. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea because they kept getting other people wet. At least everyone was nice about it. Then Brad took the boys down the lazy river. We had lunch at the buffet at Mandalay Bay. Buffets are not very cost effective for a five year old. We spent $22 for Matthew to eat cereal, a small bagel and some fruit. This isn't the first or last overpriced meal my kids have eaten. I'm sure there will be plenty of them on this trip. After lunch we packed up our stuff to head off to Zion Canyon. It's amazing what a mess my kids can make in 24 hours.

This drive was more enjoyable than the one to Vegas. Matthew didn't complain once, which is a huge accomplishment. Of course he was busy watching a movie and playing Club Penguin online (when the wi-fi was working in the car) and the drive wasn't as long. We had to drive all the way through Zion Canyon to get to the Zion Mountain Resort where we are staying for the next 4 nights. The park is absolutely amazing and Jack even said he liked the scenery. Maybe he will actually appreciate this trip after all. The jury is still out on Matthew, he likes to say he doesn't like anything even though deep down I know he is having fun. The cabin we are staying in is brand new, which is good and bad. Good because it's the nicest cabin in the resort, bad because not everything works. The lights in both bathrooms kept going out and we spent half an hour trying to figure out why they would sometimes work and other times not. The problem seems to be linked to the front door or the floor around the front door because if you open the door or walk across the floor the lights go off. Good thing we have flashlights because we may need them to go to the bathroom. One of the TV's doesn't work and one has snowy reception, but we weren't planning to watch TV anyway.
