Day 6 - Denver

Jack has been dying to tour a sports arena, so we took a tour of the Pepsi Center to see where the Denver Nuggets and the Avengers play. We got to see the guest locker room for the NHL and NBA (the tour guide has never even been in the home team locker rooms). There is a special VIP locker room for guest teams that people like Kobe Bryant use when they play in Denver and Jack was very excited to sit in a big leather chair that Kobe sat in. We also got to see backstage where they store the basketball floor and the plexiglass for hockey games, we walked past stars dressing rooms, saw the press box, the owner's suite, the practice court for the Nuggets, and two of the three restaurants. Jack said it was the highlight of the trip so far.

After lunch we drove to Red Rocks Amphitheater. Unfortunately there was a concert tonight so we couldn't see in the theater, but the area around it is beautiful. We did a little bit of hiking and the boys were hoping that I would slip and fall on my butt. The things that my kids find funny... A few days ago I slipped and fell while trying to retrieve Jack's golfball out of the bushes, so they were hoping for a repeat performance. When we got back to Denver we walked around the 16th Street Mall (it's like a longer version of 3rd Street in Santa Monica) and ate dinner at Maggiano's. By the time the boys went to bed it was 11 p.m. They are going to have a rough time adjusting to a normal schedule again when we get home.
