We woke up to a beautiful day in Durango. It was pitch black when we got here last night so we had no idea what to expect. Luckily the rain we had last night was nowhere to be seen. We spent the day at Durango Mountain Resort. We played miniature golf, Jack went on the trampoline and we all took the ski lift up the mountain. The plan was for Jack and Brad to go down the mountain on a sled on wheels down a slide and Matthew and I would continue back down on the ski lift. Well, Jack went with me because he was getting freaked out and we thought the sooner he got up the mountain the better. The line for people going down the slide was longer than the line for people going on the scenic route. This turned out to be a big mistake because people who have a scenic view pass continue on up the mountain and they wouldn't let us off. So I had to send Brad a text message and he and Matthew ended up meeting us at the top. Of course half way up, the ski lift stops. I'm sitting there trying to calm down Jack, while also trying to keep calm and these kids on the other side of us are freaking out and saying they are going to die. This is not something you want to hear while you are dangling hundreds of feet off the ground. When Brad and Matthew finally joined us, we decided to walk back down the mountain rather than take the ski lift back. That was fine with Jack and me. Of course Matthew had to complain because walking was involved and it was a long way down. It took us an hour to make it back to the bottom. We were all starving by the time we got back to the resort, so we had lunch and then drove into the town of Durango. Matthew fell asleep on the way, but luckily woke up easily when we got there. The boys weren't happy about doing more walking, but they managed to make it up and down the main street of Durango with little complaining. We decided to pick up dinner at the grocery store and eat back at our condo. The boys went swimming for a little while before dinner, then it was off to take a bath and bed because we have an early morning tomorrow. We're taking the train from Durango to Silverton.
